Makar Sankranti (January 14, 2025) – The first major bathing day, marking the sun’s transition into Capricorn. This day signals the start of the Kumbh and attracts millions of pilgrims.

Mauni Amavasya (January 29, 2025) – The new moon day, is considered the most important day of the entire Mela. It is said that the waters of the confluence are especially charged with spiritual energy, making it the holiest day for bathing.

Basant Panchami (February 3, 2025) – The third key bathing day, celebrating the arrival of spring, symbolizing renewal and spiritual awakening.

Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir

In Daraganj locality, on the bank of the Ganga, is the Sankatmochan Hanuman Temple. It is said that Saint Samarth Guru Ramdasji had established the idol of Lord Hanuman Here. The idols of Shiva-Parvati, Ganesh, Bhairav, Durga, Kali and Navgrah are also enshrined in the premises of the temple. Nearby are Shri Ram-Janki temples and HaritMadhava temple.
It is believed that this strange statue of Hanuman is south-facing and 20 feet long. It is believed to be at least 6 feet below the surface. In the Sangam city, they are known as Bade Hanuman.

Akshayavat, or "Indestructible Banyan Tree.

This sacred and ancient tree holds immense religious and mythological significance and is situated at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, known as Triveni Sangam. Believed to be immortal, it is mentioned in scriptures like the Puranas and the Mahabharata. According to legend, Lord Rama meditated under this tree during his exile. Devotees believe that offering prayers and circumambulating the Akshayavat after a dip in the holy waters of the Triveni Sangam can grant liberation from the cycle of birth and death (moksha).

The Mankameshwar Temple

The Nagvasuki Temple in Prayagraj

The State Pavilion project aims to showcase the diverse culture, art, and tourism attractions of various Indian states to both domestic and international tourists. The pavilion will be built around the theme of traditional festivals celebrated between Makar Sankranti and Baisakhi. It will feature 35 booths representing different states and union territories, along with a crowd holding area for visitors. To engage the public, workshops will be organized, and traditional handicrafts will be displayed in a dedicated market space. Additionally, a stage will be constructed to host cultural performances from various states. This initiative is designed to highlight India’s rich cultural diversity and heritage on a global platform, while also promoting tourism across the country.
